NSF Releases ARRA Terms and Conditions

The National Science Foundation (NSF) posted its American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Terms and Conditions on May 8, 2009. This document includes the terms that will apply to any award made using funds from ARRA. Please note that the terms and conditions include increased tracking and reporting not previously required on federal grants. In addition to the NSF award conditions, grantees are required to meet the reporting requirements specified in ARRA. As with other agencies, ARRA funds are to be separately tracked and the provisions flow down to sub-recipients. Reporting will be performed via a federal reporting site - www.FederalReporting.gov – which is expected to be implemented by the end of August, 2009. NSF requires all grantees and sub-recipients to maintain current registrations in the Central Contractor Registration. SJSURF has a current registration. While NSF’s ARRA requirements require reports within ten calendar days after each calendar quarter, the Council on Governmental Relations has requested NSF define the reporting period in business days. If you have any questions regarding ARRA reporting requirements, please contact your Office of Sponsored Programs Analyst.
